History
Born as Ben Solo to Han Solo and Leia Organa, he grow up in the middle of his parent's clustered lives. Leia was unable to spend as much time with her son as possible, as she was assigned to the position as a senator of the New Republic, while Han was unable to stay in one place for very long.

When he was twenty-three years old, Ben was sent to study alongside other Jedi students, being instructed and led by his maternal uncle, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. Around that time, he began to struggle with his inner darkness. Ben grew up hearing stories about his maternal grandfather, as he came to admire and revere his grandfather's power, but he also came to fear that he may never be as powerful as the Chosen One, however, he was unaware that Anakin was once the ruthless Sith Lord, Darth Vader.

At the age of twenty-four, Ben finally learned the truth about his maternal grandfather, when Senator Carise Sindian publicly revealed that Anakin and Vader were one-and-the same. The revelation left Ben bitter and angry towards his parents when he learned they withheld the truth from him for so long; this discovery likely also caused him to struggle more with his internal conflict. Not long after, he started to admire and revere more of his grandfather's dark aspects than his light aspects.

An enigmatic individual named Snoke, the Supreme Leader of the First Order, preyed on Ben's internal conflict, and he ultimately fell to the dark side. He took on the name Kylo Ren, and aided by the Knights of Ren, he killed most of Luke's apprentices. This act greatly delayed his uncle's plan to restore the Jedi Order to its former glory and left his uncle despondent while Ren went on to terrorize the galaxy as a leader of the First Order.

Ben's uncle Luke was one of the few, if not, the only who managed to survive and escape the Jedi massacre. After Luke disappeared, Kylo Ren lead the First Order against the Resistance while searching across the galaxy to find Luke.

Headcanon
lmao all of this is crossed out because my headcanon is CANON NOW. I WAS RIGHT. 》 I believe Rey and Kylo have been bound together by the force for longer than either has known. The evidence for me is when she touches his (and Anakins/Lukes) old saber. She has visions of events she should have no knowledge of. At this point, I believe she is linked to the Skywalkers not by her blood, but by the Force itself.

》 Snoke was partially bluffing when he said that he forged the bond between Kylo and Rey. Other than there being no suggestion that he meddled in their bond visually in the film making-- Luke is around her the entire time she can see and interact with Kylo. I believe Luke, out of any of the characters in this series, would have been able to sense Snoke's influence (as he had seen it in his nephew's heart) and would have told Rey immediately. Also, after Snoke's death and Kylo's confrontation with Luke, they see each other once gain before she leaves. Snoke, most likely, was able to peer into the connection and possibly helped to magnify it, but there is no evidence that they were bound purely by Snoke's hand.

》 Kylo's take over of the position of Supreme Leader was not planned. He did not intend to become Supreme Leader of the First Order when he killed Snoke. It was only planned insofar as Kylo realized his father was correct in his assumption that Snoke would murder him. And I believe it was out of a sense of protection and kinship he felt with Rey. He killed the Supreme Leader because her life was at stake.

This was an act of "love". Not meaning that he loves her in a romantic sense, but the fact that she helped him achieve clarity within himself- something which Snoke never gave him as he constantly dressed Kylo down for being "torn". Kylo's resolve came from Rey. And Rey only.

》 I firmly believe Ben Solo is more alive than ever. He destroys his mask, a symbol of his connection to Darth Vader and the Dark Side. He killed his master for the sake of another. While he killed his father, it tore him in two. It did not destroy Ben Solo, but revived him. He could not kill his own mother-- even in a way which was more separated and much less personal. When he offers the galaxy to Rey, he implies he wants to destroy everything. This doesn't make him a good guy-- however I believe he is not acting out of "evil", I believe he is acting out of an instinct to survive.

》 The fact that Star Wars cannot keep the power-levels of any one character consistent or remember to SOMETIMES nerf Force Users to a reasonable level not-withstanding I believe Kylo is much more powerful than he seems most times. Given his unending need to seek validation from others, he is unable to see how capable he is by himself. He has essentially been an attack dog on a leash, sent out to enforce Snoke's orders or break people's minds. He was not being groomed to take on a position of high authority, merely taunted with the idea that he could possibly reach the levels of power his grandfather had (and then constantly told that he was failing due to his own split emotions).
Rey's sense of confidence in their shared fates and destiny gave him resolve enough to murder his master. Enough that he was able to mask his true intentions until Snoke was already bisected and dead on the floor. His own self assurance in knowing what he had to do to protect Rey and her vision of the future is what allowed him to do that, when before he was merely a pawn.

Important Info
》 I play Kylo Ren as an abuse victim who has been groomed most of his entire life. This does not excuse his actions. This doesn't mean he's a good guy. He's just had terrible circumstance which has led him to do terrible things. Sources say that he's been groomed since he was in the womb, but for RP purposes I say it became more intense and persistent in his early teen years. I understand this is not everyone's cup of tea, so please give me a heads up if playing with me is a no go. No harm done. No foul.

I adore Luke, Leia, and Han. I grew up with their characters, and I think they are amazing. However Kylo holds very deep resentments for Luke and Han at the very least. These resentments are seen through his eyes and probably not fair. They don't reflect my opinion as a mun on their characters. He's gotten a little better, okay?

》 MY GOD I WAS FUCKING RIGHT THO. I also firmly believe Ben Solo is still alive, and Kylo Ren has not turned his back on the light. SPOILERS AHOY: Kylo is a victim of Snoke's grooming and abuse. Once Snoke was gone he had no where to turn and offered to destroy everything with Rey. When Rey turned down that offer and he woke up with Hux questioning his circumstances he went into survival mode, because he has just broken the bonds of abuse and has no foundation to rely on. Kylo Ren may be the Supreme Leader, but he is still a frightened young man who has been used his entire life and is running on pure instinct. Again this does not excuse his actions, but I do not believe he is evil for the sake of being cruel, but for the sake of survival. Watch me eat my words when episode 9 comes out and he just kicks puppies the entire movie

》 Honestly I'm impressed with how spot on I was. jfc. Rey and Ben's force bond was not Snoke's doing, he only magnified the connection. I also do not believe Ben ever manipulated the connection to seduce Rey. They mutually brought out different sides and visions to each other.

SEXUALITY AND SHIPPING

So. This is hilariously complicated. Given that Adam Driver literally asked if Kylo had ever kissed before and the director jokes about how he's probably kissed maybe one person-- I play Kylo as a virgin.

He's a very... uh... visceral and impulsive person so shipping is a GGGOOOoo for me. But don't expect it to be healthy or "connected". He would be looking to satisfy urges over emotional fulfillment. Also there may be emo baby crying. so uh. have fun with that?

I Suppose there is the 8-pack so u got that at least

Spoilers for TLJ: Elephant in the room, Kylo undeniably emotionally bonded with Rey. I am 100% fine with playing that out. EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO WORK WITH THIS PUNK BITCH

THE TRUE ENDING

Welcome one. Welcome all. I have brought all of you here today to say that YOU WERE LIED AND DECEIVED BY THE FORCES OF HOLLYWOOD AND UNCHECKED CAPITALISM. 'How?' You ask. And yes. I shall answer. It is simple:
The ending of the Rise of Skywalker was wrong

Wait. Excuse me. WHAT THE FUCK?
You read correctly, dear friends. Someone fucked with the editing of Rise of Skywalker and it changed the entire ending of the movie. It changed the characterization of three key characters and it's clear this was against the creator's wishes. I'll be breaking this down into a few key sections. What were the changes, Why I believe these changes were made (and made last minute), and do I consider this ending more or less canon then the theatrical ending. So. JOIN ME ON THIS ADVENTURE FRIEND

The plot changes/editing change
It's fairly simple. They changed Leia's role in the plot, this changed the entire direction of the last few minutes of the movie. Let me break the timeline down
— Deathstar fight on the ocean still happens, Ben is distracted by Leia reaching out to him. She either still enters her "disappointment son" coma here, or perhaps simply just reaches out to him.
— From here, the plot continues as normal. Ben and Rey both get to the sith rave separately.
— Rey Dies
— Ben Revives her and dies.
— Leia chooses THIS MOMENT to die and give her life to her son
— Ben is revived. He and Rey kiss.
— Move to conclusion

WHAT EVIDENCE DO I HAVE THESE CHANGES WERE MADE (and at the last moment)
Take in note, my evidence is circumstantial, but circumstantial evidence still counts as proof
— Leia's final role in the movie is insanely unclear. She also takes 12 hours to actually die or something. Again. Confusing
— Ben's final words, as of this moment, are "OW". Adam Driver said he was nervous about his final dialogue in the movie to the point he stressed about it on the flight over. And. Man. IDK about you but OW seems a little unstressful to say
— There was no Force Ghost Ben, a decision that is baffling story wise. It would take any competent VFX team hardly any effort to throw a ghostly adam driver next to Leia and Luke. And this would be advantageous to add to the plot if Ben was going to die, give that final bit of closure to the Skywalker fam.
— Rey's near LACK of emotion over his death. Go watch her realize she has to leave Ben behind in TLJ and tell me that the difference isn't noticeable. It's completely against her character.
— The weird beats of Leia going into her disappointment son coma and the other strange beats of Ben's death. Especially the fact that you only see him disappear in like. one shot.
— None of the cast thought he was going to die
— Wow I wonder why Adam Driver is adamant about never wanting to do star wars at this point?
— Wow, why does disney keep resetting the character poll of who is the most anticipated character of this movie????
— The prophecy about Ben's death is completely unnecessary at this point. If it was brought up during TFA, it's understandable to put that thread there. Instead it's in the last movie when his death seems to be a foregone conclusion???
— So Rey's fine for Luke and Leia even tho she's palpatines kid, but Luke and Leia don't seem all that bothered by Ben's death??????
— This was supposed to be Leia's film and complete her arc. And while I understand that there was a lack of footage to use for her, it's odd that she ended up not playing much of a role beyond "Distract Ben so he gets stabbed ig"
— Every single hole in characterization for Luke, Leia, and Rey, every strange beat that didn't really make sense in Ben and Rey's fight on the ocean and during their ??? Mutual deaths???? and the some how rushed and dragged on ending can be solved by a simple solution. Occam's razor, Ben was never meant to die permanently.

— The fact that there was no final dialogue for Ben after his talk with his father suggests he had something significant to say after his resurrection
— The fact that they didn't have a cut of Rey absolutely LOSING HER MIND over losing to, what amounts to, the other half of her soul suggests that she was never supposed to lose him permanently
— The fact that there is no Ben Ghost means that they didn't have the time to slip that in before pushing it out to theaters
— The way the final scenes with Rey are shot and edited are, again, weird, off balance. It seems like it ends WAY TOO QUICKLY and far too on the nose.
— no but really guys. His final words are "OW"
— As for WHO changed it, because of the fact that this is clearly an edit job done at the last minute? I'm putting my money on a CEO that is above Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abrhrams. I think their hands are tied ATM. This is the ending that had been planned for, this is the ending they wanted, otherwise there would not be such big holes that felt weird and dishonest to the characters. And, like, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo was JJ's child, he wouldn't have done him dirty like this.\

THEATRICAL ENDING/TRUE ENDING
I'm sure opinions would be divided on which ending is canon depending on the person. The theatrical ending will be what's considered canon in the universe of star wars at large. For myself, I find it hard to deny the creators and filmmakers the right to present the story they wanted to tell. So, in that way, both endings are true for me. Though, I am biased-- both as someone who is an artist myself and someone who adores Kylo Ren's/Ben Solo's character-- I like the story the film team were trying to tell over the agenda that whoever pushed for these changes had. Personally, I believe it pushes Star Wars as a universe forward into new territory rather than keep it stagnant in the same old same old that it's always been. Plus. this maintains the integrity of Luke, Leia, and Rey's characters, Ben was never forgotten, far too gone, or unloved. Leia gave him one final gift, a second chance.

That said, I'm not pushing this ending on anyone. I won't be playing it by default. I would rather ask permission or have someone else bring it up.
